Zynga Poker is the most played online game hosted by Facebook. Although it has raked 30 million players worldwide, they said that they have no plans in making it a real online poker game. Though, they recently sent six amateur poker players to compete in the Nation’s Cup London.
Ever since the game was introduced back in 2007, it has raised a million number of players in just a few years. Several individuals from the poker community speculated that if Zynga partnered with a land-based casino, it would be a sure hit. But Zynga is not after it, they intent on keeping the just for fun.
General Manager of Zynga, Lo Toney, said that they are a company that is mainly provides virtual goods. The company is doing great so far just by doing so and there are no plans of turning it into a legitimate poker online game. Toney also added, “The payment model for the company is that we develop free-to-play games and then monetize a smaller percentage of our players. People will pay to purchase chips to play in games and to buy bingo cards – I still think the majority of players will play for free and others will purchase chips.” The company will stay true to its roots and no matter what other people say, there will be no real-money in their games anytime soon. Though, there will be more casino games that will be provided in the future, so you might want to check those out.
